Several Android Users Test Facebook Dark Mode, Shares Screenshots

It has been a long time, Facebook has been working on a Dark Mode for its core Android App and even though Instagram has its own pretty looking Dark Mode, it’s only now that we are starting the feature show up for a handful of people.

According to a report by Android Police, the dark mode was visible in the Facebook Android app for a short time and it disappeared for some time. As proof, the report also shared some screenshots showing different shades of black and grey that might appear in the app's dark mode soon.

Another post has been made by another Reddit user who shared a screenshot from two moths ago showing Facebook's dark mode implementation on his Android smartphone and how it looked. He also made the same statement that it showed up only briefly and disappeared soon after.

The user of Reddit also clarified that it was not a forced dark mood implementation. But this not a matter of concern as several OEMs including Realme presently offers a Dark Mode toggle that forces apps to change to a dark mode. However, there is nothing wrong in that but the matter is sometimes the text does become difficult to read.

Two other users shared screenshots on Facebook’s dark mood on their Twitter account. Depending on the dates and times of the posts, we can assure that we are very close to the official release of the feature. It is notable that all reported devices running Facebook's Dark Mode were Android phones and none of them was iOS devices. It indicates it may take a while longer for Dark Mode to be a thing on iOS.  As Instagram has already got this mode, it is likely to say that Facebook also may introduce it in its app as well.
