Samuel L. Jackson is the First-Ever Celebrity Voice of Alexa

Amazon is giving its customers the option to hear Samuel L.Jackson’s voice, and it is now available as a Celebrity Voice for Alexa. The company starts its celebrity voice program with Samuel L. Jackson. In September, Amazon declared about it, and now you can pay $0.99 to have Jackson respond for your Alexa requests for the weather forecast, music, and more.

Using Alexa will be a lot more fun with the voice of the famous actor and Hollywood icon. However, Alexa doesn’t replace Alexa’s leading voice, and you will have to make a special request to hear his voice. You can instruct Alexa by saying, “Alexa, ask Sam to wake me up at 7 am” or “Alexa, ask Sam to sing happy birthday,” and it will complete the task as ordered.

The voice of Samuel L. Jackson is powered in part by Amazon’s neutral text-to-speech model, instead of depending on pre-recorded phrases. The actor granted permission to stand in for Alexa’s standard voice. He has also recorded several other audios for Amazon to base everything on. You can even ask Sam more about himself. However, you will not be able to hear him while shopping, using lists, reminders, or skills.

Jackson is not the first celebrity whose voice has been recorded for a smart speaker. Earlier this year, John Legend recorded several phrases for Google Assistant. Arnold Schwarzenegger, George Clooney, Chris Rock, and Oprah Winfrey are in the list of top choices for celebrity voice assistants. By going to the Alexa app setting menu, you can choose explicit and clean versions of Samuel L. Jackson’s celebrity voice. Currently, each version is available for $0.99, but the price will increase to $4.99 by the end of the year. Amazon has claimed Jackson is only the first celebrity voice in the works for Alexa and may debut next year.
