Shortly after unveiling its first flagship phone in India - Realme X2 Pro, Realme has teased the launch of its first 5G device - Realme X50. Xu Qi Chase, CMO of Realme, took to sources announced that the company is indeed working on its 5G-enabled phone.
Earlier, the tech manufacturing company has shown interest in Qualcomm’s forthcoming 5G-enabled Snapdragon 700-series SoCs. However, there is no confirmation on whether the Realme X50 will be featured with a MediaTek or Snapdragon Processor. But considering the trend of using Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors, Realme X50 is likely to sport one from the same family.
The teaser image of Realme X50 has confirmed that the smart-device will surely support dual-mode 5G - NSA (Non-Standalone) and SA (Standalone). This configuration is similar to what its competitor, Redmi K30 5G, will offer. Whether or not Realme X50 will unveil to India, the company has promised to offer 5G phones in India.
Earlier this year, Realme’s CEO Madhav Seth has claimed that their first 5G-enabled phone would be unveiled in India this year. If everything is on track, then we can expect a 5G-enabled phone to be unveiled in December. Interestingly, at the launch of Realme X2 Pro in India, Mr. Seth has confirmed that it would be among the first brands to feature smartphones with Qualcomm Integrated 5G SoC in India in the following year. Hence, there are chances that we might not see a 5G-enabled phone in India in 2019. Realme is not yet ready with a 5G-enabled phone and it could be a trouble in any manner.
Lastly, the teaser image also featured a hole-punch cutout for what considers to be a dual-camera set-up. Realme already had phones with pop-up cameras, and dewdrop displays - Realme X50 will be the first phone from this popular brand launched to paired with a punch-hole display.
